Vioxx
Vioxx: Vioxx, or rofexcoxib, is a prescription medicine in a class called COX-2 inhibitors. First approved in 1999, Vioxx was indicated to treat signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis, menstrual pain and the management of acute pain in adults.
Vioxx is in a broader class of drugs known as NSAIDS. On September 30, 2004, Merck and Company, the manufacturer of Vioxx, voluntarily pulled the drug off the market due to the increase of cardiac events, including heart attacks and strokes, found during a trial for the drug.
If you are a loved one were on the prescription medicine Vioxx and have suffered from any adverse heart condition, please contact a personal injury attorney immediately.
